PowRoute is a small, invite-only beta run by one person for a handful of friends. This page says plainly what it stores and who can see it.
What we store
- Your account: name, email address, and a hashed password (never the password itself).
- GPS tracks you import: the GPX file you upload, the full recorded track (positions, elevation and times), and the segments and routes you mark on it.
- If you connect Strava: the access tokens needed to read your activities, and the data of the activities you choose to import (GPS stream, name, date, and a link back to Strava). We don't pull activities you don't pick.
- Routes, notes and edits you make, with a history of who changed what.
Who can see it
During the beta, everything you import (tracks, routes, notes, and your name on them) is visible to the other invited users. Your email address and password are not shown to them. Don't import a day you want to keep private.
What we don't do
- No selling or renting your data.
- No ads and no ad trackers.
Strava
Strava data is used only to import the activities you choose into PowRoute. You can disconnect PowRoute from your Strava account settings at any time; activities already imported stay until you ask for them to be deleted.
Services we use
The app and its database are hosted on Railway. Maps are loaded from Mapbox, which sees your browser's requests for map tiles. Strava is used only if you connect it.
Deleting your data
There is no self-serve delete yet. Ask the person who invited you (the site's operator) and they will delete your account, your imported activities, or both.
Changes
This page will change as PowRoute grows. See also the safety disclaimer.
